In my free time I build fun engineering projects and tinker with new media, using as much available scrap as I can. I also make stained glass and teach students stained glass and machine shop skills at MIT Metropolis makerspace.
Stained glass
A stained glass wreath and a kinetic sculpture (a bee and a flower), made as Easter gifts. Tools: glass cutter, wet grinder.
End-grain cutting board (cherry, oak, walnut)
Made over January 2026 and now used daily in my household. Tools: planer, table saw, sander (MIT Hobby Shop).
BONUS
Paper towel holder (aluminum)
Made in 3 parts, all from scrap stock, in under an hour. It replaced a store-bought holder that broke, and has survived 2 moves and years of abuse. Tools: CAD, waterjet, lathe, drill press.
